Practitioner & Educator

Based in Victor, Idaho,
Suzanne is dedicated to preserving and sharing the classical teachings of Āyurveda and their practical application to everyday life

HI, I'M SUZANNE

My Journey with Āyurveda

My journey with Āyurveda began in 1999, when I traveled to India for a Yoga Teacher Training. That same year, I became pregnant with my daughter. Motherhood strengthened my connection to both Yoga and Āyurveda, transforming them from subjects of study into lived experience.

In 2007, I graduated from the California College of Āyurveda. I soon began working as a postpartum doula, integrating the traditional wisdom of Āyurveda with the everyday realities of pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood. Supporting women through this tender and transformative stage of life became a natural extension of my own journey and remains at the heart of my work today. It also shaped my focus on the natural stages of a woman’s life and how to support these transitions with greater ease and awareness.

Along the way, I have pursued advanced studies in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care with respected teachers including Ysha Oaks of the Sacred Window School of Maternity and Newborn Health and Dr. MaryJo Cravatta of Shaktiveda Āyurveda. I am also a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) through Yoga Alliance.

While contemporary interpretations have helped introduce Āyurveda to a wider audience, I found myself increasingly drawn to the clarity and nuance of the classical tradition.

Returning to the Classics

After more than a decade in practice, I felt called to return to the classical roots of Āyurveda. My longstanding commitment to understanding Āyurveda through its original principles and texts led me to continue my studies with teachers dedicated to preserving the classical tradition.

In 2021, I returned to formal study through Āyu Academy and Boston Āyurveda Inc. I am currently enrolled in Boston Āyurveda Inc.’s Doctor Course, which will conclude with an internship in India in 2027.

Classical wisdom for the present & future

Today, my work is rooted in the classical teachings of Āyurveda and informed by more than two decades of personal practice, study, and service. I continue my study of the Aṣṭāṅga Hṛdayam with Dr. Nambi Namboodiri and remain committed to sharing Āyurveda as it was intended: a science of life and longevity that helps us understand our relationship with nature, cultivate health, and navigate life’s transitions with greater awareness and purpose.
